This structure, built in 1998, carries vehicular traffic over eleven underground movie theaters in downtown Rockville. The structure has eleven simple roof spans ranging from a minimum of 34’-3” to a maximum of 50’ for a total length of 475’ and a width of 42’
A periodic inspection is necessary for the roof structures over the 11 theaters. The height of this roof over the theaters is approximately 35 feet. Our inspection used portable scaffolding with platforms for a hands-on inspection and evaluation of approximately 26,400 sq ft of structure.
KPA has provided a rigorous inspection of the roof structure of this complex on 5 occasions starting in 1996. The last inspection was in 2005. Each inspection included an evaluation and report outlining defects observed, recommended repairs and a cost estimate.
